Safeguard freedom of expression in Russia

The Russian Chechen Friendship Society, a non-governmental organization that monitors the human rights situation in the North Caucasus and undertakes humanitarian initiatives for individuals affected by the armed conflict in Chechnya, is facing imminent closure at a hearing on 23 January.
This is the organization’s last chance to appeal an October 2006 court ruling to shut down the RCFS, and follows a series of incidences of judicial and administrative harassment of the organization and physical threats and attacks of some of its members.
If the hearing upholds the previous decision to close the RCFS, it will constitute another serious blow to freedom of expression and the work of human rights defenders in Russia.

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!

Mike
